Some pairs stay difficult
A sworn interpreter in Tigrinya or Pashto for tomorrow morning is not always findable. You will hear so within the hour, not the night before.
Before accepting a surcharge, check the real date of your deadline. It regularly happens that a client asks for 24 h when their municipal appointment is ten days away: the standard turnaround was enough. We ask the question every time, and we would rather lose the surcharge than the trust.

A sworn translation in 24 hours, really?
On common language pairs and for a short document, yes. For a bulky file or a rare language it is less certain and we say so plainly. The limiting factor is almost always the availability of a sworn translator in that precise pair, not the number of pages.
How much is the surcharge?
+50 % for delivery within 24 hours, +75 % within 12 hours, +100 % within 6 hours. These surcharges apply to the base rate, appear on the quote before confirmation, and nothing else is added on grounds of urgency.
What if the document also has to be legalised?
That is where urgency meets its limit. Legalisation of the sworn translator's signature goes through the FPS Justice and that timing is not ours to control: allow 3 to 5 working days. If your destination also requires an apostille, you request it from the FPS Foreign Affairs and it adds to the schedule. We speed up the translation and file the papers as early as possible, without ever promising the pace of a public office.
The hearing is in Huy the day after tomorrow, do you have someone?
