Every autumn, ULiège, HEC Liège and the university colleges of the province take in students whose paperwork comes from elsewhere. Behind each enrolment there is a diploma to have recognised and a list of documents to produce in the required form.

The way we handle the education & research sector
Every academic year, the University of Liège and the university colleges receive files put together abroad. For recognition by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the translation of the diploma and the transcript has to be sworn: we handle it, including legalisation of the signature at the FPS Justice when that is requested.
On the research side, conventions differ from one discipline to the next and from one funder to the next. We translate articles, abstracts and funding applications following the instructions of the publisher or the programme, with a native reviewer from the field before submission. Collaborations with Maastricht and Aachen make English dominant, but Dutch and German come back in agreements and consortium arrangements.

Which documents have to be translated for a diploma equivalence?
The diploma, the full transcript of records and, depending on the case, the course programme, all in sworn translation. The exact list depends on the country of origin and the level requested: check with the equivalence service before ordering, and forward us their reply if it reads as obscure, we will go through it with you.
Do you revise a paper already written in English?
Yes, researchers at Sart-Tilman ask for it often. A reviser who is both a native speaker and a specialist in the field makes the text idiomatic and consistent with the conventions of the target journal. It is billed as revision, not as translation.
How many interpreters does a full day of conference take?
Two per language pair, taking turns every twenty to thirty minutes. That is the professional standard: beyond that, attention drops and accuracy drops with it. We also supply the booths, the receivers and the technician.
Can an international student order alone, from abroad?
